Our August show will consist of Regular-8 movies from the collection of the late Roger Arcara. The subjects will be as follows:
- New York, Westchester & Boston – The famous movie of the short-lived Westchester-Bronx commuter railroad that was abandoned in 1937
- Third Avenue El in Manhattan – Movies of the long-abandoned elevated on Third Avenue
- IRT Subway in the 1940s and 1950s – Views of IRT equipment across the system
The movie presentation will be narrated by Roger’s longtime friend, Gary Grahl. Roger’s movies have been shown at the N.Y. Division for many years. They are a great record of electric traction history. Please come and enjoy the show.
