Our December meeting will be presented by ERA Program Chairman Andrew Grahl. Andrew has a wonderful slideshow planned that will consist of both digital images and Kodachromes, an ERA first. His topics will include the following:
- New equipment in Boston
- Recent summer and winter views from the last days of Montreal’s Deux-Montagnes Line in Central Station
- Updated views from recent trips to Baltimore, Cleveland, Chicago (including the South Shore), Kansas City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington
- Opening day images from Kitchener and Ottawa as well as extension openings in Denver
- St. Louis Loop Trolley
- Views of local current events including NJT heritage units, LIRR third track, M9, NYCT R-179 and museum trains, and NYC freight
- FL-9s in Cape Cod
- Steam in Kentucky and Iowa, and the Union Pacific Big Boy in Illinois
- Kodachrome slides from the 1940s and 1950s including trolleys in NYC, Manhattan Elevated trains, and commuter rail views.
- A short tribute segment in celebration of ERA icon John Pappas will also be included in the presentation.
